We know many heroes- real life, virtual and mythological. These heroes are popular because they fought the evil forces. While we remember and worship heroes, shouldn’t a part of credit go to those who made these heroes popular- i.e. the villains or evil forces who caused all the trouble for these heroes. If everything was smooth, clean, honest and painless, the heroes will have no work to do. ( |

I will always associate Kota Kinabalu with rains, OK may be not always, but surely till the next trip. Due to the rains we could not go island hopping on our schedule. But that gave us half a day to explore the landmarks of the city which was fun. In this post I show you Kota Kinabalu in pictures. Kota Kinabalu is also emerging as a destination for Indian weddings.

Image: A long exposure shot to capture cloud movement at Sankey Tank, Malleshwaram, Bangalore, India. Many asked me if I had Photoshopped this image to get that cloud movement kind of effect. Some do understand that this is a long exposure shot, but they still have a doubt as to how I had captured a long […]

I have never been lucky enough to see the Tigers in their natural habitat during the wild life safaris in India and honestly I was quite scared of being face to face with them. So in my heart I never really wished them to come close enough to me. My mind though kept looking for ...

A lantern hung on the branch of a tree , its pale glow just enough to find our way around. Our host rushed to light the fire, and details emerged from the darkness – the neatly whitewashed house, with a pretty garden around, a water pump, the kind I hadn’t seen in years, wickerwork chairs that reminded me of my grandparents’ house, and a pair of care-takers, busy whipping up dinner for us. However, there was just one thing that Samhith noticed – the old fashioned charpoy (wooden bed) on the lawn! [...] |

The word Bedouin comes from the Arabic word Bedu and literally means ‘people who live in the deserts’. Bedouins are found all the way from the north of Africa to the Middle East and the one thing that connects them is the fact that they live in the deserts and rear camels and mules. However, with time many have now moved to the cities and don’t identify themselves as a typical bedouin, though a large number of them continue to dwell in the deserts, especially in Jordan .
By the time I finished talking [...] |

Bit grumpy because my laptop repair didn't hold and now it's back at the shop. My Peanut character generator! Although, I'm such a fan of the strip, I'm not sure I'll watch the movie this is advertising for because it'll probably dumb it down and ruin it. Good grief. #peanuts #funthings

Travel, they say, teaches more than you could ever learn in school. I would say trekking — especially of the multi-day Himalayan kind — teaches you more than you could ever learn from ‘ordinary’ travel. This post is an attempt to share what I have learned during my brief career as a Himalayan trekker, not it may not exactly be an exhaustive list.
1. The value of teamwork
If I learned one thing from my latest trek in Kashmir — Tarsar-Marsar — it’s the [...] |

Here are some pics of a maroon fencing around our tile roofed sit out as well as maroon colored gate. The fencing is a typical Kerala (South India) design and is termed in vernacular Malayalam language as "Charupadi". On the inside we have granite slabs for seating around 8 persons comfortably - for confabulations, conferences or coffee meets. Traditionally charupadi is constructed out of wood. But this one is from cement and given a wood like finish.

Floral pants are stylish, comfortable and fun. For my last trip I wore these blue and white floral pants. Since the floral pants were so bright and colorful I chose to pair it with a black crop top. These floral pants are so comfortable and breezy.
The black crop top has beautiful rose detailing and its such a versatile piece. I have paired it with a skirt for evening look and worn it with casual pants. The floral pants has a bright blue shade to it and so I wore a simple blue beaded necklace from my own [...] |
