Mismanagement, corruption and resulting crowd menace at Ranthambhore is increasing every year. It is no more a place where you can watch a tiger walking the forest in peace. After every visit, I said to myself that this is going to be the last time. But the tigers of Ranthambhore keep bringing me back. We had a sighting of T19’s cubs last year when they were just 3 months old. They were barely larger than a house cat last June (2014). Now they are sub adult cubs of one and half year. And they were treating [...] |

Nalanda-Rajgir - Dona The Journey
Rajgir Bihar : The Journey of Single-Seatedness
It was Mom who kept on reminding me how Rajgir was a scary experience for her long back. Not everyone loves the idea of crossing mountains on an open chair not everyone can dare to do that either. But it was long back. With the progress in ages and rise in tourism all over, the chairs are fitted with hold able bar in front so the risk of tripping is almost nil.As scary as it looks like,It isn't so.It started with a breeze [...] |

The number one activity on my to do list in kolukumalai was to hike the second highest peak in South India – The Meesapulimala. You can start the trek to Meesapulimala from the silent valley or kolukumalai. It’s a moderate trek that takes you through various terrains and beautiful sites.
After a sumptuous breakfast we started our trek with a local guide. We first passed through lush green tea estates, which was littered with elephant dung.
Then our trail took us into dense bushes. We were wary [...] |

Camera determines the shutter speed and aperture, based on its built in Metering. All in-camera light meters only measure reflected light. The problem with all reflective light meters, is that, the reading they suggest is influenced by two variables. The amount of light reflected from any scene or subject, which is determined by how much ... Read more |

History One of the best preserved Roman site in Spain is Merida! It dates back to 25 BC and was one of the most important Roman cities of that era. In 713AD it was conquered by Muslim army. Most of the old buildings were reused; they made very few alterations and additions to the existing city. The city came under Christian rule in 1290. During 19th century under napoleon invasion the city was |

Set up in the year 1786, Chinchechi Talim is the oldest and the most famous Akhara of Pune . Over the last 200 plus years, the pehalwan from the akhara traveled across the entire country and won competitions everywhere. Even today the akhara is quite well known in North India and the pehalwani from here often go there and compete.
There are two teachers at the Talim (an Akhara is called so in Pune, more details later in the post) , Balasaheb Kolte and Bandhu Shedge , and has 35 students right now. The [...] |

“Amma, you missed a fort!” cried Samhith. We were on our way from Pathankot to Dharamsala, and I had somehow fallen into a deep sleep. I was still groggy, but the word ‘fort’ was enough to wake me up. Or maybe it was the enthusiasm in his voice. He went on, describing how big it looked, and how it stood atop a hill, and all I thought was – I didn’t know there was a fort here! “Had you heard of the Nurpur Fort?” added Shankar, intruding into my thoughts, and I shook my head. For the first time, [...] |

The steep walls of the fort tower over us, and we strain our necks to get a better view. The car winds its way steadily upwards, and we walk into the imposing gates. Our stop at the Kangra Fort is meant to be a short one, tired as we are. As it turns out, the fort and its stories have us enthralled, and we lose track of time!
The Kangra Fort, as seen from the road, with a temple on the hill behind

I can never say I have too much red in my closet. Thats one color which can never get boring for me. I love wearing different shades of red. At our last Casino party I wore a red backless gown with golden stilettos. I think golden accessories are a must have as they are easy to style with most colors and can instantly add a glamours touch to any silhouette.
These long two layered leaf earrings one golden and other slightly silver is from my own Jewelry collection - Ananya Kreations . If you are interested [...] |

The sky caves of Mustang April 19 2015
South Col had a group of eight trekkers to Mustang and Lo Manthang last April 2015. The morning dawned clear in Pokhara and all the peaks were visible after the rain the previous evening. Our 7 am flight to Jomsom was bang on time and I was sitting on the left side so I had splendid views of the peaks including Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri and Tukuche. I could also clearly see below me the route we had taken on so many treks - Austrian camp, Poon hill and [...] |

Had read good reviews about Ustad hotel movie a year ago or so. And last week - watched half an hour of it. No clue of Malayalam though. So, postponed watching to get subtitles. One more week passed and I got the subtitles searched. Story is about a family spread across 3 generations who work-own restaurant(s) and hotel. But each have their own perceptions of work - hence their work is at |

Whilst I was on a (ir)regular visit to public-library sometime in year 2012. I chanced upon a pile of books which were for sale. And a book which was in the middle of pile, had its bottom part protruding out - "Awarded the Nobel Prize..". With curiosity, I pulled it out and found it was Gitanjali from Rabindranath Tagore. My knowledge of Rabindranath Tagore or his work was limited to what was |
