This summer saw me embark on one of the best train journeys that I have undertaken till date. Close to 5000 kilometres of diverse terrain in just over 2 weeks sounds awesome right? Add to the mix, a classic 1950s train car, enterprising company and surreal destinations and you have a magical concoction that I was privileged to live and experience on my trans USA coast to coast train journey.
If you had tracked my journey through the trending hashtags #RoadTripUSA, #DiscoverAmerica #MTPTrain on social [...] |

Here's a #nofilter #bhopal sunset. We're back to Delhi tonight on a teeny tiny plane. Spent the evening at the gorgeous national park/zoo, and now a quick drink overlooking the lake before we go home.

I am no expert on high altitude and high altitude sickness. It is commonly known as AMS or acute mountain sickness. But I am someone who loves going to the mountains. For me views are more important than gaining height. But as it is easy to gain height on treks these days, I have been up to Kala Pathar (Everest Base Camp Trek, Nepal) which is 5,643 meters or just a little above 18,000 feet. I m someone who tries to trek at least once a year. Recently I came across a program where I felt they were treating Diamox [...] |

Note on the sub-title: With no time to do this before the run start, I did a la Paula infamous pee break during her world record setting FM, or the more recent Mo Farah's pit stop on the way to his 5000m world championship. Yes, I took a loooong #1 break en route to this Personal Best HM effort. Hence to Pee or not to PB

Hail to thee of auspicious form, whose head is crowned with a garland of stars...I adore thy trunk flung up straight in the joy of the dance,so as to sweep away the clouds...Destroyer of obstacles,I worship thy snake adorned body...the treasure house of all success. ~ Kathasaritsagara Day 4 | Mumbai Ganpati Pandal Hopping | Eco-Friendly Ganesha (Theme - Lord Ganesha with His Army of Mice): The huge Ganpati Pandal in a narrow gulli or lane. Over the years, though I have become largely aloof to faith at a personal level, my interest in the religions has grown tremendously, and a lot of credit can be given to travel which opened both my mind and soul to understand and accept. One faith that has intrigued me a lot is Buddhism and with India’s special connection to it, I always look out for it whenever I travel.
Here are two stories of Buddhism in the two far apart, yet spiritually connected, ancient Himalayan [...] |

Jordan as a destination has typically played second fiddle to its larger neighbours and usually ends up an add-on to a longer itinerary in Egypt or Israel. Last week the Jordan Tourism Board kicked off a mega tourism campaign in an attempt to alter that statistic. Eighty eight international digital influencers from over fifteen countries, along with a few local media persons, were […] |

More from yesterday's visit to the Museum of Man. This is a Bhil hut, complete with termite eaten wood posts on the outside. You could walk right in and look at the layout--most tribals prefer to have the cooking area also be where the Goddess hangs out but I think it's the Bhils where everyone in the tribe shares one central courtyard where they gather every evening. #installation #bhopal #traveldiary
