There was a time when trains used to be my favorite mode of travel. I still like it but I would happily take a flight over a train if it is available. Among all the journeys that I end up embarking on trains by the Indian Railway , I prefer the Shatabdi Express experiences the best. And there are many reason for this:
Short Journeys
Train Journeys
Most Shatabdi journeys are half-a-day journeys. By the time you start fidgeting, you are already halfway through to your destination! Now is that not a [...] |

My spirit human is definitely the Dowager Countess from Downton Abbey. She cracks me up, man. When she's like, "what is a weekend?" Hah! That always makes me laugh. I'm the same, I'm like, "what is a Monday?" also I like the way she bosses her servants. It's inspired me to boss mine more. - Squishy, Nizamuddin #catsofdelhi #blackcatsofinstagram

I don’t actually want to pay for the news. Why should I? Everything I need is served up to me for free. And that’s not just the news websites. It’s my social media feed that blinks rapidly 140 characters upon another telling me about an earthquake or a fire or an announcement someone just made.
On the other hand, this is how I make my living. I write words for an audience, and the audience is meant to pay for my words. I have a dog in this fight, as it were, and it makes sense that my money [...] |

The word Bedouin comes from the Arabic word Bedu and literally means ‘people who live in he deserts’. Bedouins are found all the way from the north of Africa to the Middle East and the one thing that connects them is the fact that they live in the deserts and rear camels and mules. However, with time many have now moved to the cities and don’t identify themselves as a typical bedouin, though a large number of them continue to dwell in the deserts, especially in Jordan.
By the time I finished talking [...] |

“Aap itni door aayi hain is train mein safar karne?” (You have come this far just to travel by this train) exclaimed my driver, when I informed him that I had come from Mumbai to travel by the local meter gauge train from Mhow to Patalpani, Kalakund and back. “Yes” I replied. The century old train is part of our disappearing history, and I wanted to experience at least some of it before it faded into oblivion. It took him a while to digest that logic, and when he did, he came up with another question [...] |

Note on the sub-title: With no time to do this before the run start, I did a la Paula infamous pee break during her world record setting FM, or the more recent Mo Farah's pit stop on the way to his 5000m world championship. Yes, I took a loooong #1 break en route to this Personal Best HM effort. Hence to Pee or not to PB

Ryanair is one of the cheapest airlines in the world. You can fly around in Europe for an amount that is cheaper than what it costs to reach airport by taxi. To give an example, you can book Copenhagen-London for INR 1500-3000 round trip, approx. Copenhagen-Kaunas some 2500 round trip. I had an opportunity to experience their flight recently. Below are some of my observations/notes. Like |

Over the years, though I have become largely aloof to faith at a personal level, my interest in the religions has grown tremendously, and a lot of credit can be given to travel which opened both my mind and soul to understand and accept. One faith that has intrigued me a lot is Buddhism and with India’s special connection to it, I always look out for it whenever I travel.
Here are two stories of Buddhism in the two far apart, yet spiritually connected, ancient Himalayan [...] |

During the one hour stroll we took through the up and down sloping streets of Elvas we didn’t meet a single person except one another tourist. It was around 3 to 4 in the afternoon of 21st May 2015. The whole town seemed to be sleeping. There were signs of people living because their laundry was left to dry outside; the gardens looked well looked after. We had no one to ask directions, but it |

When I was in Vilnius, I borrowed a local newspaper- The Baltic Times from hotel reception and read through it. I also watched an Ukranian news channel- Ukraine Today that telecasts regional news in English language. We in India are not much concerned about what is happening in this part of the world. But it doesn’t harm to keep ourselves informed. I have compiled some key news on the events |

Horses Plough The Field
Imagine when togetherness of family relationships is defined by abandoning technology in a place like America. When we waved ‘hi’ to a farmer ploughing with his 4 horses in Hillsboro,he waved back a hi’ .A moment later he was gone.May be he was confused on the attention he got - as it was his regular day but for us,ploughing with horses was new.I wondered how keeping horses was more cost-efficient than the cows but they live in an era that we as an outsider might never understand.I [...] |

It took me a while to understand US.The US that we know world wide, the powerful the magnificent the most developed does it have a soft side?A side that celebrates the culture worldwide.A side that is multi-faceted in the prim and proper as said, or as rustic and natural as the pictures speak of.The side that not many appreciate for the abundance of Other Touristic ‘Whatsoever’ to look at.I am surprised many ain't even aware of this side.
I wish it did fit me :) #PolishFest2015
